The Challenge

Fitz Fish Ponds needed to move off an old WordPress site that could not sell anything. The new BigCommerce store had two jobs: generate leads for the custom pond design and construction business, and sell koi and pond supplies online across several retail locations.

That meant shipping and in-store pickup side by side, inventory that stays in sync between the warehouse, the stores and the point-of-sale system, and a large content migration that could not cost them their organic rankings.

The Solution

We designed and built the BigCommerce theme from the ground up, with custom templates for services, portfolio projects, product categories and locations.

Buy online, pick up in store lets a customer switch between delivery and pickup, and zip-code lookup finds the nearest location for them. LightSpeed POS is integrated for live inventory across every store, and the site can also combine stock from all locations into a single available count to support drop-shipping.

We migrated the service pages, blog, videos and portfolio, and ran an SEO audit through the transition so rankings and organic traffic carried over. MailChimp, Kosmos and Elfsight were integrated for email, personalization and social feeds.
